It is often the second time I meet my future brides and grooms and a moment that we anticipate with a little apprehension because we are rarely used to being photographed. Today I'm sharing with you my experience to prepare your engagement session in Paris. I will give you some tips and illustrate these tips with Alison and Jérôme's engagement session.
What is an engagement session?
This is a couple photo session organized before your wedding. The goal is to get you used to the presence of my lens and myself. The idea is to get to know each other, to make you feel confident and to learn how to put yourself in the picture in a natural way. This is an opportunity to make beautiful pictures of your couple and to spend a good time together.
The best places in Paris for your engagement session
The Trocadero esplanade and its view of the Eiffel Tower
The Place Vendôme
The Tuileries garden
The Pyramid of the Louvre
The Parisian brasseries
The Alexander III Bridge
The alleys of Montmartre
The Bridge of Arts
Saint Louis Island
When and how to prepare your engagement session?
In general this session is done before the wedding, then you are free to let your imagination run wild depending on the season (mountain, snow, beach, abroad, the world is yours!). The main thing is to make this moment your own and to enjoy it. The session must be like you. We discuss together according to the season and the place where we will shoot. Draw your inspiration from your history, your habits and your tastes. Don't hesitate to glean a few more ideas fromPinterest, or wedding blogs.
What outfit to wear for your engagement session?
Be comfortable!
Be inspired bythe destination of your chosen session. No need to plan a light dress and pumps if you have planned a walk in the mountains for example.
Watch the weather. Under a gray sky or even under the rain a session can be aesthetic and pretty. You will just have to foresee according to the weather vs accessories: a nice umbrella, nice rain boots, etc...
Coordinate your outfits. Without being tone on tone, choose your outfits in close or complementary colors, in a nice cameo of colors for example. Avoid fine stripes, which can give optical effects that are not very pretty.
Be on the same page as your other half. If you choose to wear an elegant dress, he or she will avoid wearing something too casual, for example.
